Global nuclear power generation is expected to hit a record high in 2025

Global nuclear power generation is expected to hit a record high in 2025

The International Energy Agency released a report "Electricity 2024" on January 24, which showed that global nuclear power generation will hit a record high in 2025.

Fatih Birol, Director of the International Energy Agency, emphasized that the power industry’s carbon dioxide emissions rank first among all industries. However, it is gratifying that the rapid rise of renewable energy and the steady development of nuclear power will meet the world's new electricity demand in the next three years.

The report predicts that by early 2025, renewable energy will surpass coal and account for more than one-third of total global electricity generation. By 2026, low-emission energy sources, including renewables such as solar and wind, as well as nuclear power, are expected to account for nearly half of global electricity generation.

Nuclear power will hit a record high in the future.

First of all, France, as one of the most important nuclear power countries in the world, its nuclear power generation is expected to continue to rise in the next few years. This is due to the French government's strong support for the nuclear energy industry and the continuous improvement of domestic nuclear energy technology. As France's nuclear power generation grows, its position in the global nuclear energy market will be further consolidated.

Secondly, after Japan experienced the Fukushima nuclear accident, it temporarily suspended the operation of nuclear power plants. However, under the premise of fully ensuring safety, some nuclear power plants in Japan have gradually resumed operation. This means that Japan's nuclear power generation will rebound and contribute to the development of the global nuclear energy market.
